The story of Maverick Tyler is one filled with opposition, hope, and perseverance. 

(Maverick) Tyler Privett was introduced to rock and roll at an early age and he attended his first rock concert at 5 years old. This is where Tyler fell in love with the idea of being a musician and where he fell in love with live performance. (Thanks Whitesnake, Motley Crue, and Def Leppard for putting on unforgettable shows)

The next step was finding his instrument. At 8 his parents invested in a drum kit and by age 9 he had beat the kit to hell and his parents realized that being a drummer wasn't something they were willing to be patient with any longer.  Yet, when he was 13 years old he received an electric guitar for Christmas and he struggled to find a good relationship with the guitar over the next 2 years.

By the age of 15 he was able to play the basics on guitar and he had even decided to start writing music. The passion only grew as friends and neighbors also acquired instruments and began pursuing composing and performing music. Before long he was performing at house parties and local venues in punk bands to start and then eventually finding his place screaming and playing guitar in a metalcore project called, A Form of Hope. 

Shortly after A Form of Hope disbanded, Tyler moved out of state to a small town with a population under 200 people and fell in love with playing an acoustic guitar at sunset. This is where he started writing some of the music he's performing today. 

In the early 2010's he was able to link up with some older cousins who helped inspire his musical journey and they formed the band Maverick and the Sweetheart Rebellion. In 2012 they recorded a 6 song EP called REVOLVER EP which can be found on this website as well as Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music and many other websites and online hosts. 

In 2023 after his divorce, Tyler decided to start playing music again after family and friends encouraged him to get back to doing something he once loved. After about a year of hitting the stage solo he began to cultivate members of the band that is now known as MAVERICK TYLER.
